All the successful experiences in Grand Prix with the carburetors and in Supermotard with the injection mixed together in one technology, totally owned by Dell’Orto, properly designed and developed for 2 and 4 stroke single cylinder engines. The system, which has been developed by a dedicated team, represents the natural evolution of the well established production of Dell’Orto ignition and lubrication systems.

The electronic carburetion is a fuel supply and ignition integrated management system, which allows to accomplish the future antipollution standards and to improve in the meantime the performances. Besides the reduced emissions, the new system offers high added value advantages for the users such as easy starts, cold engine driveability, smooth and stable idling, hot/cold climate adaptation and high dynamic response.
A complete electro-actuated carburetors range covers all the foreseen displacements, with solutions which go from flat valve to CV carburetors. Furthermore, the electronic management can cover possible automatic starter devices, electric heaters and throttle position sensors used on the carburetors.
The completely waterproof control unit, is arranged with spare input/output for eventual additional sensors and actuators. Specific control algorithms allow advanced functions such as the recognition of dynamic transients or the gear position without the need of additional sensors.
For 2 stroke engines with separated lubrication, the integrated control of the electric oil pump grant the catalyst durability, together with a reduced smokiness and low oil consumptions. For high performance 2 stroke applications the system even integrates the exhaust power valve control in order to achieve the highest performances without affecting the noise in the city driving. The exhaust after treatment has been developed in Dell’Orto R&D Labs together with the Electronic Carburetion System ECS, by integrating Dell’Orto’s secondary air devices with the necessary catalytic converters and by implementing sophisticated control strategies for a quick actuation of catalyst after a cold start.

The Electronic Carburetion System ECS doesn’t require any electric fuel pump with subsequent benefits on the configuration and capacity of the tank, on electric absorptions, on safety, on weights and on overall dimensions. Dell’Orto electronic carburetion can work even with kick-start, as well as on vehicles without battery. The re-programmable electronic control unit can be interfaced with the instruments’ cluster, with the immobilizer, with the diagnostic and calibration tools.
The self-diagnosis detect any failures and defines the proper recovery strategies.

The Electronic Carburetion System ECS has been tested in the Dell’Orto R&D Labs under the most severe foreseen conditions in order to assure the highest reliability and offer to the market a practical and affordable solution for the sustainable mobility.
